It was a rather blustery day....and I got a bookcase

Imagine yourself in the back of a very large pick-up truck.
You're riding down the freeway at 75 mph. The wind is blowing your hair right off your head. You double check the buttons on your shirt because your pretty sure it may take off at any moment. You there? Good. Now imagine yourself trying to set up a 8 man tent in the back of that pick up truck.
This was the scene of my last camping adventure.
Minus the truck.
And the freeway.
Needless to say it was a disaster. We ended up sending half the crew back at one o'
clock if the morning because pieces of their tent were shredded like beef.
I then spent 6 hours the next day cleaning up 35 individual personal effects and group site supplies.
Sadly, the wind was only half of my troubles; but, I survived. After I came back from the 'everything that can go wrong will' adventures I walked into my house to see this!

The bookshelf, not the Walter bear. I just love pictures with my doggies in em. Heaven help me.... I'm turning into one of those people. Don't worry, I don't refer to myself as their "mommy" yet.

But, I lied. I walked into Mark Taylor's House to see that. Then we took it home and stained it black and let people come to admire it.

Isn't my hubby such a sweetie for making me this? I've wanted a ladder bookcase for ages but they are so pricey or small and ghetto. I'm loving this one and its semi-industrial look.

It looks nice next to our toolbox coffee table. (If you were wondering, it is called an 'eclectic' decorating style, or 'just a splash of red neck'. Dirk IS  from Mona afterall.)
Anyway I like it so much I had him make me another one. Here are the plans if you are interested. It maybe cost us $70.
